In a place like Afghanistan, where war and scarcity make daily living a constant struggle even of the able-bodied, the needs of individuals with handicaps are often the last to be met. Thanks to the initiative of two men who began the Sedaqat Deaf Centre in 2003 by teaching Afghan Sign Language to five students; the program has since expanded to include: mathematics, reading and writing Dari, history, geography and vocational training for about twenty students of all ages. This jewelry was made by a Sedaqat student. Its purchase helps fund vital education enabling participants to contribute to their families and communities. Thank you for being part of transforming lives, one piece of jewelry at a time.
